Mission statement

A.C.T.S. is a legally recognized Mexican non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to sustaining and improving the quality of life of our community, and to preserving our natural surroundings and habitats.

Our purpose

To take a pro-active role in supporting and representing our area’s interests as a recognized voting body to Municipal, State, and Federal government agencies, as well as community organizations, and the media.

  • To be a valuable resource of information on matters relevant to community.
  • To support initiatives that protect and enhance property values.
  • To encourage responsible stewardship of the land for generations to come.

Many unique neighborhoods of The Asociación de Colonos de Todos Santos (A.C.T.S.)  are along Baja’s coastline. As residents of this special place, we wish to protect and improve our neighborhoods, community and nearby areas. We need to be united in these efforts! Officials of the Mexican government have made it clear that we must be an officially recognized voting body in order for our concerns to be heard. A.C.T.S. exists for that purpose.

Why become a member?

Whether you are a full or part-time resident, if you do not have Mexican citizenship, your rights to address issues and improvements in your community are limited. As an A.C.T.S. member, you’ll have a legal voice to make requests to be responded to and acted upon by the government to help protect, preserve, and maintain your community.

The name “Colonias de Todos Santos” or “Los Colonas” means “residents” & “neighborhood areas” of Todos Santos. We are officially registered as a formal association that can legally speak with officials. Whether you are having specific issues solely in your particular neighborhood, such as water shortages, or we are experiencing the same issues such as trash collection and road grading, we all benefit from the strength our unity gives us.

What is required of me?

A.C.T.S. offers a number of different committees for you to get involved. Whether your interest is in water conservation, neighborhood safety, trash collection and recycling, natural habitat preservation, or if you have a new idea for a committee, your community can use your help. How are the membership dues used?

First, one has the option to donate volunteer hours instead of paying membership dues. We always need talent to help with communications, translations, community outreach, or to lead a committee.

As a non-profit organization, A.C.T.S. relies on membership dues to pay taxes, the accountant, website maintenance, office supplies, and for projects voted on as a top priority by the members. Dues are collected by the Treasurer and deposited in the Association bank account. All financial records can be viewed at any time upon request, and are shared with members at the annual meeting. Our policy is transparency and accountability to members.

Active Committees can raise funds with separate accounting for specific causes. Donations are welcome for these projects, since membership dues won’t cover it all.
